The Vision

To graduate young men and women who think clearly and listen carefully with discernment and understanding; who reason persuasively and articulate precisely; who are capable of evaluating their entire range of experience in the light of Scripture and who do so with eagerness, in joyful submission to God.

To graduate young men and women who recognize cultural influences as distinct from biblical and who are not moved toward evil by the former. We aim to find them well-prepared in all situations, possessing both information and the knowledge of how to use it. We desire that they be socially graceful and spiritually gracious, equipped with and understanding the tools of learning and to graduate young men and women who have humility and gratitude toward God.

Classical Education

Classical education is a proven method of teaching which structures learning in accordance with the stages of child development. This approach enables students to gain knowledge, understanding, and wisdom at an age when subjects are most easily mastered. At cornerstone Academy, curriculum is taught in a three-part educational process termed “The Trivium.” Each phase is dependent upon and builds upon the others.

University Model

We looked for innovative solutions to meet the academic needs of today's families. We explored the natural connection between church, school, and home, and discovered a way to weave these ancient pillars of community together. We took the best of home study and classroom study, and created an educational model that allowed parents to assume ownership of their children's education with the help of seasoned professionals. Thus, each child's individual needs are met, and parents enjoy a high level of support and accountability in the process. We offer a full academic program in a combination schedule of classroom study and home study for Pre-K through 12th grade. Traditional classroom study and instruction takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, while parents oversee home study with teacher-directed lesson plans on Monday and Thursday. Beginning Fall 2012 Cornerstone will also offer 4- and 5-day options for grades 4-10.
